“Our Brazil experience with CMU has invigorated a desire in our church to do short term missions all over the world.  The quality of the experience of ministering to the Brazilians through providing them a sanctuary has helped to create a big missions atmosphere at our church.”

As a pastor of a local church, I was looking for an opportunity to get my people personally involved in the Great Commission.  But how?  There were too many variables to launch out on our own.  Christian Missions Unlimited offered us an unbelievable amount of resources for a church sticking its toe in the water of short-term missions.  I was blown away by their love of God and His work in Brazil , by their professionalism, preparation, and organization – even of the smallest details.  These guys know what they are doing and love what they are doing!

I cast the vision in my small church and two folks went with me to Brazil the first year.  After we reported what God had done through us, 10 people jumped at the opportunity to go the next year.  When we arrived in Brazil , we had 15% of our Sunday morning congregation and four out of five deacons sharing the love of Jesus!

I highly recommend CMU as a top level missions organization.  They excel where many others fail; they do short-term missions with excellence!  Their caring and devoted leadership make the difference.  Your people will never be the same again!

About 10 years ago my brothers and I were sitting around discussing our business.  One of the things we had been feeling lead to do was to give back a portion of our company's profits to a worthy cause.  There are so many wonderful causes but each of us -- being followers of Jesus Christ -- wanted to give to a cause that was actively involved with the spreading of the good news.  We also were interested in finding something that would not only be a blessing to others but also to those in our company.  Just giving can sometimes become mundane and often impersonal.  Giving, going and doing the work gives you a clear understanding of what is at stake.  I heard Chuck Connor speak at my church and heard wonderful stories of those in our congregation that had been to Brazil to build churches for communities in need.  We prayed about it and felt the Lord leading us in the direction of CMU.  The first trip for our company was taken by my younger brother and I back in 1998.

When you go with CMU you are a blessing to the people of Brazil , but more importantly is the blessing that God has in store for those who go to do His work.  I will forever be changed from this trip.  The blessing is still at work today in my life.  As soon as we got back from Brazil we put together a slide show from the many pictures we took and showed it to our entire team.  Our staff now looks forward to seeing these slide shows every fall from those who go.  I believe it helps our staff to know that their hard work is going for far more than their salary and our company. Each year we have a list of those on our staff that want to go.  We pay their way and their salary while they are away.  Sure, it's a bit harder on our staff while they are gone but the sacrifice is quite small compared to doing the Lord's work.  This is one of the ways we have chosen to honor the Giver of All Good Things.  We also have found that you can never out-give The Giver of Life, Jesus Christ.

It was my joy to take 25 people from our church to Brazil to build a church. The work, prayers, and fellowship brought us closer together as a group of church leaders. We pray for missions, give to missions but the hands on of doing it changes lives. We saw people saved but we were changed too.  Our perspective of life and purpose were radically transformed for God’s glory. Only eternity will tell the good of our efforts in Brazil .
