WHAT TO EXPECT

WORK

You will work very hard, (at your own pace of course) and in many cases it is very hot. Teams start from the foundation and work to the completion of the roof, laying bricks, mixing mortar and sometimes building trusses. We do all manual duties necessary to complete a building approximately 26 feet wide and 50 feet long, with walls about 13 feet high.

OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers have the option of sharing at daily devotion, the dedication service and services at various churches on Sunday. You may even be asked to sing or play an instrument.

Volunteers assist in the distribution of clothes, and other needed items to those in the job-site area. People, (especially children) will flock to the work site where we have a chance to make friends and be a witness. It amazes the people in Brazil that you are willing to come and work to help them. Your presence is a testimony in and of itself.

FELLOWSHIP

You will work, sweat, laugh and cry with other Christians from all walks of life. The ministry that takes place between the volunteers is always a beautiful part of these trips.

We have seen many volunteers experience healing, comfort and encouragement that they receive from their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The fun and fellowship that takes place is the BEST when God's folks are about His business

PERSPECTIVE

Your perspective will absolutely be changed. You will see people who have almost nothing, that are content and satisfied with what little they have. Brazilian people are so expressive in their gratitude and are so appreciative that it is humbling. No one can leave a country like Brazil without reevaluating his or her priorities and looking deep inside to see what really matters most. We are truly blessed here in the U.S.

SENSITIVITY

A short mission trip can be an eye opening experience. Many times volunteers come home with a heightened sensitivity and awareness for ministry in their own family, community, town and country. The Lord has a way of using these experiences to help us recognize the needs of those in our own backyard.

CALLING

God may use this time to call an individual to a specific task, whether it is home or abroad. Statistics show a large percentage of the people giving their lives to foreign missions were called to serve while on a volunteer mission trip or participating in short term missions.
